An Immersive Analog Photography Workshop
Step into the origins of photography and experience the processes that shaped the medium as we know it today.
Over six immersive days, participants will journey through the evolution of photographic image-making from large format negatives and wet plate portraits to some of history's most beautiful handcrafted printing techniques.
Working with light, silver, metal, carbon, earth pigments, and ink, you'll explore both the science and artistry behind photography's most iconic processes.
Through studio portrait sessions, darkroom practice, and hands-on printmaking, you'll create unique photographic objects while gaining a deeper understanding of how photographs were captured, developed, and brought to life long before the digital age.
More than a workshop, Analog Dream is an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with the craft, and experience the enduring magic of photography through the materials and processes that built its history.
AN IMAGE IS BORN
This intimate 6-day workshop is designed for photographers and artists who wish to deepen their relationship with the photographic image through observation, process, and practice.
Led by photographer Manoj Jadhav, participants will work in a small group environment that encourages experimentation, discussion, and personal exploration. Through studio sessions, guided assignments, demonstrations, and hands-on practical work, you'll learn to slow down, observe with intention, and approach image-making with greater awareness.
The workshop begins with "An Image is Born" — a foundational session exploring how we see, interpret, and translate light into photographs. From there, each day introduces a new process, offering a different perspective on the act of creating an image.
Alongside the technical aspects of each process, Manoj will share insights into his approach to portraiture, visual storytelling, project development, and building a personal photographic language.
Participants are encouraged to create, experiment, make mistakes, ask questions, and engage deeply with the creative process throughout the week.
The workshop includes lectures, presentations, demonstrations, studio shoots, practical sessions, creative assignments, and group discussions, creating a rich and immersive learning experience unlike a conventional photography workshop.

Just bring your curiosity, we'll provide the rest.
WHAT YOU CAN BRING
• If you own a film camera, feel free to bring it along with a lens suitable for portrait photography. While not essential for the workshop, it can be a wonderful companion throughout the week.
• A notebook, journal, or laptop for taking notes, recording formulas, process details, and personal observations.
• A digital camera is entirely optional. The workshop does not require one, however participants are welcome to photograph during the sessions and studio shoots.
• Participants who wish to explore alternative printing processes using digital negatives may find a digital camera useful, though this is entirely optional and not a requirement of the workshop.
• External hard drives, memory cards, or storage devices for backing up any digital files created during the workshop.
• Comfortable clothing suitable for studio work, darkroom sessions, and handling photographic materials.
• Any personal items, medications, or essentials you may require during the workshop.
Most importantly, bring an open mind, curiosity, and a willingness to experiment.

• Video recording, live streaming, and phone recordings of workshop lectures, demonstrations, discussions, and practical sessions are not permitted.
• Analog Dream is an educational and artistic photography workshop. All portrait and figure studies are conducted with professionalism, respect, and artistic intent.
• The workshop does not create, promote, or participate in any form of adult content. Participants are expected to conduct themselves respectfully towards subjects, models, fellow participants, and the learning environment at all times.
• All participants must agree to the workshop terms and conditions and sign the required workshop and model release agreements.
• All presentations, lectures, demonstrations, discussions, and workshop communications will be conducted in English.
