It was a dark, wet night.

Rain whispered against the glass while we sat in her dim apartment.

The room smelled of smoke and silence. We spoke little, our words felt heavier than the air itself.

Then she stood, disappeared into her room, and called out, “Come here. I want to show you something.”

I followed, half curious, half afraid of what I might find.

She stood by the window, her back to me. Slowly, she began to undress. There was no drama in it, no invitation either.

“Take my pictures,” she said. “I’m all yours.”

For a moment, everything felt suspended, the rain, the silence, even thought itself.
